COVID-19 immunization schedule

No matter how many previous doses received, everyone 6 months and older should get at least 1 dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine.

Some may need 2 or more doses depending on their age, medical conditions and vaccination history, such as:

  • Children aged 6 months to 4 years who have never had a COVID-19 vaccine or only had one dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
  • People who are immunocompromised and have only had one dose, and in some cases two doses, of COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine eligibility charts below provide more detailed information on the COVID-19 XBB.1.5 vaccine recommendations for the following products:

  • Moderna Spikevax (mRNA)
  • Pfizer Comirnaty (mRNA)
  • Novavax Nuvaxovid (protein-based)

If you have questions or need help deciding which vaccine to take, speak to your health care provider.
